7m21d-WATERBABY!

Our water baby!

Nevaeh spent the night with us again.  Here, Auntie Caitie just finished with her bath....Ahhhh nothing better than smelling a lotioned up baby!  We have a baby monitor in our bedroom.  Last night, Nevaeh woke up a few times.....we would hear her talk to herself and then go back to sleep.  She never cried once!  Such a good baby!

FIRST HALLOWEEN 2010!

Awake and ready to go on her first Trick or Treating in the neighborhood.

10 minutes later our little butterfly rested....I kid you not!

7m19d- PROGRESS IN CRAWLING

Nevaeh is making progress in the crawling department.  She is starting to move forward with her arms....still trying to figure it all out, but progress is noted.......then she threw up on the white carpet!  YIKES!

7m18d-BUTTONS

Today Nevaeh noticed my buttons on my jacket...when asked where Nevaeh's buttons were she pulled on her own shirt and looked at her own buttons! Pretty smart! I love watching her learn!

7 1/2 MONTHS- BOO AT THE ZOO

The kids are going to Boo at the Zoo today!  As you can see, Nevaeh wants nothing to do with the hooded part of her costume.  She would not sit still for a picture and cried until we took off the hood.....but she is still a cute butterfly!  Jordyn wanted to be Superman and Alexis is a cute little devil.

7 1/2 MONTHS- OVER/UNDER!

On the walker! (Look how short her legs are!)
Under the walker!

Little Miss Nevaeh is very aware of her surroundings!  Yesterday evening, Mommy and Aunt Caitlin took Nevaeh to see their brother's awards program (Uncle Andrew- 11 years old- 6th grade).  When the crowd clapped, Nevaeh followed suit!  Each time, she would look around and start clapping when everyone else did!  She was having such a good time that strangers would come up to them and say what a good and happy baby she was.  She is such a blessing to all of us!

7 1/2 MONTHS- FIRST TOOTH!

Little Miss Nevaeh cut her first tooth today.  The bottom right tooth just broke through the surface ....so no good pictures yet.  I think the bottom left will pop through this weekend.  We can see it just below the gum line!  She did pretty well cutting this tooth.  Teething tablets and baby Tylenol were all she needed.  Hopefully the rest come through just as easy!

7m11d- CRAWLING STAGE 2!

Close to 7 1/2 months and our little miss is now in stage two of crawling.  She gets up on her hands and knees and tries soooooo hard to move forward.....but just can't seem to figure it out.....it won't be long and she will be crawling EVERYWHERE vs. scooting with her belly on the floor!

7m9d- Patty Cake Video

Yes, I had to visit the little one again....even though I just saw her yesterday!  She waved hi to me and Great Grandma Martin and then showed off patty caking....which I was lucky enough to catch on video (Sorry about the sideways view....not sure how to turn it!).  You'll  notice that she stops clapping after the patty cake part and puts her arms together ....I think she trying to figure out the "roll it" part....in time, she'll have that down pat, too.  She is a quick learner!

7m8d-FIRST COOKIE

We've tried the graduate cookies and and dried fruits that melt in Nevaeh's mouth, but she still chokes on them and still doesn't get the concept that she needs to swallow.  Today, she had a hard cookie that she was able to gum until it was soft....then we took it away from her so she wouldn't choke.  One of these days, she will get the hang of it!

7m8d- Restless Night!

Jordyn and Nevaeh had a sleep over with us!  Jordyn told me he wanted to sleep in "Bevaeh's" room.  He had me put pillows on the floor so he could hear his sissy sleep.  How cute is that!?  Mommy asked me to take off the bumper pads because Nevaeh is burying her face in them when she sleeps.  Mommy is worried about suffocation.  I removed the bumpers pads, but then all I did was worry about her getting caught in the slats!.....so I put the bumper pads back on, then I worried about her suffocating! To solve this problem, Mommy and I went out to buy the breathable bumpers at Babys R Us.  I bought green for the crib at our house....and Mommy picked pink to match the nursery set she has at home.  I hated to pack away the beautiful bumpers that matched the nursery set, but feel much more at ease with this new choice now.  Here's the crib in our house (neutral for many grandbabies to come):

7m7d- CRAZY!

Yes, that is what everyone says about this Grandma....Crazy because I put up the Christmas Tree in October every year.  It just happens to be my favorite holiday.  I rationalize it by the fact that it take so much time and effort to decorate this beautiful tree and a few weeks in December just isn't enough for me!  When Mommy and Aunt Caitlin were little, they made me close the blinds until Thanksgiving, so they wouldn't be embarrassed!  This year, I had a few helpers!

The finished product!

 Helper number one!

Helper number two!  It was so cute.... after Jordyn hung this ornament he said, "Santa is going to be so proud of me!"

7m6d-READING VIDEO

Nevaeh seems to be learning from the "Your Baby Can Read Video".  Since the age of 11 weeks, she has been able to sit and watch the video with interest.  She even gets upset if she can't watch it more than once in a row.  Today, I got out the flashcards that match the words and pictures on the videos.  I started with the first set of cards.  With the first card, she got a HUGE smile on her face.  She watched me flip the card over from the word to the picture.  Every time a new card was presented, she got a HUGE grin on her face.  I honestly think she made the connection from the video to the cards.  I showed her the word, said the word and then flipped the card over to the picture.  After I finished the set of cards, I went to put them back in the baggy and she started whining ....just like she does when the video is over!  So I got them out again and started showing her again....and....she got a HUGE grin with each card.  It will be interesting to see if she actually does read at an early age.....time will tell.

7m3d- Patty Cake

Today, Great Grandma Richards was doing patty cake with Nevaeh.  Usually her arms are tight and stiff and her fists are closed.  Today she loosened up and let Grandma patty cake with her....with open hands (real claps).....after Grandma did this a few times, Nevaeh decided to try it on her own......Yes you read that correctly.....she is only 7 months old and can patty cake/clap her hands on her own now!  Growing up way tooooo fast!

7 MONTHS-PARTY!

Mommy and Daddy had a birthday party for Jordyn.  He will be turning 4 years old in a few days!  Here I am enjoying the party and hanging out with Great Grandma Martin & Grandma and Grandpa Dason.

All the kids at the party carved pumpkins.  Even me!....

 Hmmmm....what is this gushy stuff?
Good thing the gushy stuff has been removed!
Yummy this tastes good!
Being a good sport and playing along!

7 MONTHS OLD!!!

Dear Nevaeh,
You are 7 months old already!  Wow!  I see alot of your Mommy in you when I look at your sweet little face!  You are 26" long and holding steady at around 18 1/2 lbs. You wear mostly 6 mos. clothes, size 3 shoe (if we can get them to fit your chubby little feet),  and size 3 diapers.  You are still a VERY GOOD sleeper and you can self soothe yourself to sleep with your binky and blanky!  You still have a gummy smile, drooling up a storm, but not teeth, yet.  You "talk" all the time and scoot EVERYWHERE!  You haven't figured out how to crawl yet, but it won't be long.  You are able to pull yourself into a half sitting, half laying position with your head and feet off the ground, while on your side...you have very strong abs....soon you will be pulling yourself up into a sitting position with no help.  Recently you started pretend coughing (mimicking us) and then smiling up a storm! You wave on cue when someone says "Hi"....tooo cute!  You love your puppies, you will pet them and laugh out loud when you see them!  You know your name and will look our way when we say it.  You are certainly a Daddy's girl!  You even say Daddeee every once in a while, mainly Dada.   You can say Mama, too! You got your first flu shot the other day and I think Mommy cried more than you did!   Some firsts were ice cream cones and sippy cups both of which you did very well with!  In fact you LOVE ice cream!  The biggest change this past month is that your family moved back home. Now I can love on you whenever I want .....we had our first sleep over .....with many more to come.  By the way, Grandpa Dason is absolutely in love with you!  He lights up every time he sees you!  ......EVERYONE DOES!
Love you tons!

6m28d- SIPPY CUP

Today we introduced the sippy cup! You chewed on it more than drank from it.  But every now and then, you would suck on the soft spout!  Such a big girl, now!

6m27d- FLU SHOT

Here's Nevaeh at the pediatrician's for a flu shot.  She did well....even after the little ouchie!  She weighs 18 lbs. 13oz, but this time she only measured 25 inches.....last month she measured 26 inches.....we know she is growing and not shrinking, so the last measurement must have been incorrect!  I will have to change that on her growth chart.  She is a healthy and happy baby!  YAY!

6m25d-HELLO NEVAEH!

Courtney and Nevaeh had lunch with me at work today.  Many teachers and students said "Hi Nevaeh" and she responded with a wave!  (hand up in the air with fingers moving up and down)....TOOOO CUTE!

Another cute moment.....Daddy was working outside and Nevaeh could see him through the window.  Great Grandma was holding her and Nevaeh kept saying DaDa over and over.....when Daddy didn't respond (because he was outside), Nevaeh started crying and saying Daddy (not DaDa) with real tears!  She sure is a Daddy's girl!

6m24d-FIRST OVERNIGHT!

You read the post title correctly.  Nevaeh had her first sleep over with Grandma and Grandpa  ....without Mommy and Daddy.   We had a wonderful time.  Nevaeh slept through the whole night....but I can't say the same is true for Mommy.  She was up many times that night and even contemplated coming and getting her, but Daddy reminded Mommy that we were all asleep and doing just fine!  Soon Mommy and Daddy will learn to enjoy their alone time and Nevaeh will start looking forward to her sleepovers with us!

Here's Nevaeh's first taste of ice cream.  She really liked it....even opened her mouth and leaned in for more.
