2.5 YRS OLD- MULTI-TASKING!

2.5 YEARS- GOOD MORNING

Nevaeh is very independent! She tries really hard to get ready herself! Look at her beautiful hair! She is blessed in the hair department. Just like her MOMMY!

DANCE CLASS PICTURES!

Tonight's class was successful! I asked Mommy how she did it? Tough love. Mommy said she was leaving the room if she didn't dance. Nevaeh wanted to be able to see Mommy, so she danced and Mommy sat in the room and watched! I on the other hand was sucked into her clinging and crying last week :-(. Yes she has me wrapped around her little finger.

2.5 YRS.- NEW COUSIN!

Meet baby Gracyn! Nevaeh found an old paci at home and offered it to Gracyn (melt my heart!). In one of the pictures you will see Nevaeh helping Caitlin breast feed.....This was only after she exclaimed..." That baby is eating your boobie!" Now she goes around and breast feeds her dollies! LOL.

Another cute thing she pointed out....She told us that she was born out of Mommy's tummy and baby Gracyn was born out of Aunt Caitlin's tummy! Pretty perceptive for a 2 year old!


She also told us that she is going to teach Gracyn her ABCs, how to dance and how to eat pizza! LOL!

2.5 YRS- DANCE CLASS :-(

Dance class was a bust this week.  She cried the WHOLE time!  She also told me she didn't want to take dance class :-(.   Soooooooo sad right now.  I hope this was just an isolated bad night.  Time will tell.

She also told me she was tired.....Hmmmmmm I wonder if it was due to the fact that she was up ALL night because she didn't have a pacifier!   Thank God it was Mommy and Daddy last night with her and not me....I now know why God gives babies to young women......this old lady can't function without sleep like I used to.  I am still trying to recover from Saturday night and no pacifier!

I can honestly say switching from the bottle to a sippy cup and potty training were pieces of cake compared to taking away the binkie!  GOD HELP US, PLEASE!

2.5 Yrs.- CHOIR

Nevaeh is practicing in the children's choir with Grammy Baker. She will preform in the coming months!

2.5 YRS.- NO PACI?

We picked up Nevaeh and the first thing she told us was that she threw her pacies out the window and gave me a high five!  YAY!

Ride home in car with no paci - no problem :-)

Bedtime with no paci- no problem :-)

Middle of the night with no paci- MAJOR MELT DOWN....screaming at the top of her lungs for about 15 mins.....felt like 15 hours!!!!  Let her cry it out....broke my heart.

This morning with no paci- no problem :-)

Making good progress but the middle of the night felt like we were back in the newborn phase! At least I didn't have to work today.  I hope Mommy and Daddy can stick to their guns in the middle of the night!  TIME WILL TELL.

2.5 YRS. - NO MORE PACI?

Last night Mommy had a heart to heart talk with Nevaeh that it would be her last night with the paci, because it was going to ruin her teeth.  At that time, Nevaeh said OK.  HMMMM could it really be this easy.....

This morning, before going downstairs, Mommy reminded her to grab her blankie....of course, Nevaeh quickly added "And my Paci?". When Mommy said NO, there was a mini meltdown with words mixed in from Nevaeh that the paci wasn't ruining her teeth.

After she stopped crying, she finally agreed with Mommy that the paci would ruin her teeth.  Mommy suggested that she throw the paci in the trash.  She told Mommy, "No me and Uncle Andrew will throw all of the pacies out the window!" Mommy told her to go tell Daddy this......

Nevaeh woke up Daddy and told him that she was "Throwing Uncle Andrew out the window!". HAHA

Guess who is keeping her overnight tonight WITH NO PACI?    God help us!

2.5YRS.- NEW?

Nevaeh got a new hairdo......Mommy & Daddy got a new van!!! 

Nevaeh loved the van sooooo much that she actually cried hard with real tears when we made her get out of it to go in the house.  LOL!

2.5 YRS. - MY NAME?

Tonight it dawned on me that I don't think Nevaeh is going to call me Grandma Dason.....She either called me  "Grandma, or Grandma Shelly" this time. In fact she said "Grandma Shelly" with a grin....like.....haha....I know your first name.  Time will tell!

2.5 YRS.- FIRST DANCE CLASS

Tonight was a true deja vu for me.  I walked through the doors of a dance studio with a cute little girl in a pink leotard just as I did 22 years ago!  As I passed through the door, my first thought was....this is the first of many, many more dance classes with my sweet little girl.  My next thought strayed to the pregnant Mommy (Aunt Caitlin) who is due any day now.... Little Miss Gracyn will be Nevaeh's dance partner in a few years!  AWE!  By the way, Aunt Caitlin didn't want to miss out on this first dance class....she was there contractions and all!  She sure does love her niece! They have a special bond.

At first, I thought the dance class was a bust!  Nevaeh clung to Mommy and CRIED!  After a few minutes, she warmed up to her dance teacher, Amy, who held Nevaeh while she taught the other kids.  Next Nevaeh transitioned to the floor next to Amy....Then she transitioned into the line with the other kids.  This is a baby class for 2 and 3 year olds.  Nevaeh is the smallest and the youngest.  I peeked in several times.  One time I found her doing "heel, step, heel step, jump out, jump together"  .....The flood of memories washed over me as I went back in time to Mommy and Aunt Caitlin's dancing days!  SOOOO DANG CUTE!

At the end of class, Amy brought her to us. Nevaeh said, "I just danced, Grandma!" and gave me a high five!  As we were leaving the studio, Nevaeh announced to all the other Mommy's in the waiting room...."I did it, I did it!"  A few Moms even congratulated her!  *Melt my Heart!*
