RECORD BREAKING HEAT THIS WEEK!
Temperatures in the lower to mid 90s combined with dewpoints in
the middle 70s will produce heat index values between 100 and 104
degrees on Wednesday. This prolonged period of dangerously high
heat and humidity will pose a significant risk of heat illness.
Nighttime heat indices will fall to the middle to upper 70s with
the warmest readings in urban areas.
Oppressive heat and humidity will continue to persist through
Thursday evening with temperatures pushing close to 100 degrees.
Combined with high humidity levels... afternoon heat index values
between 105 and 110 degrees are likely Wednesday... while heat
index values between 105 and 120 degrees are likely throughout
much of the day Thursday. Nighttime heat indices will fall to the
lower 80s with the warmest readings in urban areas. This prolonged
period of dangerously high heat and humidity will pose a
significant risk of heat illness.
