2.25YRS. - POTTY UPDATE

Nevaeh had a few accidents in her big girl panties today, but she definitely hates being wet!  The good news to share-  she went poopy in the big girl potty for the first time!  WOOT!  She was so excited that she had Mommy face time me on her iPhone to show me while she sat on the potty.  She even insisted I look in the potty through the phone camera to see the "goods"!  Haha

2.25 yrs- BIG GIRL PANTIES

For the last 6 months, we have been trying to entice Nevaeh into the whole potty training thing.  So far, it's been a big FAIL.  She would tell us that she was a baby and babies wear diapers.  :-(   Lately she started telling us that she had to go pee.....she'd sit on the potty but....NOTHING.....I think it became a game.  But today, she got up in the morning and out of the blue asked to wear her big girl panties!  She has been dry all day and was successful going potty.....She even got a sucker for doing such a good job.  Then she had to SKYPE me and grandpa to share the news!  :-)  Is this a one time deal????  Time will tell!

As for the paci and blankie.....we are all working as a team (parents and grandparents) to make sure we stick with a plan that Nevaeh only gets the paci and blankie when she sleeps  (ie. carseat, naps and at night).....before she had the paci in her mouth 24/7!   Now when she asks for them, I ask her if she is going to take a nap....if she says yes, I'll give them to her.  Every once in awhile she will start playing rather than napping.....When I remind her, she takes the paci out of her mouth.  Now Mommy and Daddy have it rougher.......She throws FITS.....drops to the floor and screams with real tears...... they don't give in.  But it sure is hard!!!!

Nevaeh, Guess who signed on with the local Police department?! Yep, that would be your Daddy! And guess who just signed on with a local rehabilitation center with a substantial sign on bonus in occupational therapy?! That would be your Mommy! And guess who just got promoted to a management level nursing job just one year after graduating? That would be your Aunt Caitlin! Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to see the value of a college degree. Their hard work is paying off to make a good life for you. I hope you do the same some day! Love, Grandma Dason

2.25 YRS.- SHARING

This picture warms my heart. Not long after Nevaeh got up this morning.....she wrangled grandpa into watching DORA on the iPad with her!

Here are a few things she said lately that I wanted to write down so I wouldn't forget:

1. Last night she told me her belly hurt as she was whining.....thinking that it was poop pains since she is a constipated little one all the time, I asked her if she wanted some apple juice ....she looked at me and smiled, then said "Yes, with Miralax to help me poop". Haha....she read my mind!

2. Her favorite saying right now is "Suck it up buttercup!". She learned that one from Grammy Baker and uses the phrase appropriately!

3. Last Friday the kids were visiting me at my school. Nevaeh was playing with several bracelet from my toy store that I have for my students. She started singing DORA'S I speak Spanish and English too......then she counted each bracelet in Spanish and then recounted them in English... at the end, she clapped for herself! :-).

FIREWORKS- 2012

I would have titled this July 4th 2012, but a storm delayed the fireworks for two days! So on July 6th sweating in 95 degree heat at 10 pm we finally got to see the pretty and loud display in the sky. Nevaeh enjoyed them this year with Jordyn!

JULY 2012

Hottest spring (80-90 degrees) and summer (90 - 100 +) degrees on record! Tomorrow is going to be even hotter at 106! YIKES..... Toooo hot to even enjoy swimming. Never thought you'd hear me say that maybe we will get in the pool when it COOLS down! LOL!

NEW SONG

Uncle Andrew made up this song and now Nevaeh sings it all the time..."I got a funky, funky rash. I got a funky, funky rash....I need some butt cream". The hilarious part is that she sings f_ cky and _ ss in place of funky and rash!

4th of July 2012 Fair!

The 4th of July Fair (until the storm cancelled the fireworks!).....Nevaeh loved the bouncy toys and face painting, but pretty unsure of the pony ride!
