18.5 MONTHS- WHY?

Nevaeh's newest word...WHY? In fact she doesn't just ask why, she asks why in a complete sentence and expects an answer!

18.5 MONTHS- BIG HELPER

Aunt Caitlin was cleaning out her old bedroom back home and little Miss Nevaeh helped. Caitlin would hand her things and say "This goes in the keep pile. or...This goes in the trash pile". Nevaeh would walk over to the correct pile and repeat after Aunt Caitlin "This goes in the keep pile...or...This goes in the trash pile"....Such a big helper!

18.5 MONTHS- LOUNGING AROUND!

Nevaeh's newest thing is to lay on the couch with her pacifier, blankie and sippy cup.  She will watch the Your Baby Can Read video or Nickelodeon for long stretches at a time.  Sometimes she even falls asleep and takes a nice long nap!

18.5 MONTHS-PHALANGES

With Mommy's Occupational Therapy background, she knows alot about the anatomy with proper terminology.  She always teases and says Nevaeh  is going to go to Kindergarten screening one day being able to identify body parts with correct terminology.... Yesterday, Mommy asked Nevaeh where her phalanges were.  Nevaeh had a pacifier in her hand.  She looked at it, put the pacifier in her mouth and wiggled her fingers!

Today, I was at Lowes with Nevaeh.  I had a spray paint can in the cart.  She picked it up and started shaking it.  She said "shake the can, shake the can"  and bounced up and down to help shake it up!  It is amazing the things she says.  I am not sure how she knew what to do or even the right words to say!

18 MONTHS- ROY G. BIV SONG

Nevaeh loves this Roy G. Biv song (colors of the rainbow) on Youtube....Listen closely and you will hear her sing these words "...all of the colors in things that you see...(tries to say the colors)...all that you see.....rose...ELMO!"  She has such a sweet voice!

18 MONTHS- COUNTS TO 20!

Yes, you read that title correctly!  Remember when I shared that first Nevaeh would count with us by repeating each number, then she would say the next number (Daddy said 1, Nevaeh said 2 and so on)....she did this type of counting up to 10 then one day counted to 10 by herself????!!!!  Well tonight, she repeated the numbers after Daddy (11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20)....then Daddy said 11, Nevaeh said 12, Daddy said 13, Nevaeh said 14, Daddy said 15, and Nevaeh ended with 16,17,18,19,20 !!!!!  I kid you not!  WOW!

18 MONTH CHECK UP!

Nevaeh had her 18 month check up today. No weight gain AGAIN this month....still holding at 19 lbs 15oz.  At least she is getting taller.  Now Nevaeh is 30 3/4 inches tall.  She is small for her age, but not petite.  Doctor seems pleased with her progress.  :-)

Tonight I changed her diaper and asked her what was on her legs.  She pointed to the bandaides and said "Grandma, shot!" (Grandma Baker works at the doctor's office and had to give her the shots today).  I asked her what else she got and Nevaeh said "A sucker!"

18 MONTHS- SLEEPING

Mommy and Daddy are moving into their new home and Nevaeh got bored waiting on the cable guy......Not sure how she could sleep this way!  Once they move in and set up all their furniture, I'll post before and after pictures of the remodel over the last 6 months.  You will be AMAZED!  Courtney and Mike are very fortunate to have such a fabulous place to live and raise their family!

18 MONTHS- SINGING SONGS ON THE RADIO!

Nevaeh surprised Mommy and Daddy tonight!  She was in the car seat listening to the radio when Taylor Swift's "Mean" song came on......Nevaeh started singing the Chorus!  She hummed or said the words quietly and then sang out loudly the words ....CITY.....MEAN.....ME.....MEAN....SO MEAN at the right times in the song!  The chorus is listed below....

"Someday I'll be living in a big old city / And all you're ever gonna be is mean / Someday I'll be big enough so you can't hit me / And all you're ever gonna be is mean / Why you gotta be so mean?"

She has done this before to the theme song of Phineas and Ferb, but the cartoon had pictures on the TV screen to cue the singing.  This time, she sang with no picture cues.....just words from the radio!

Here's a video of Nevaeh singing the chorus....she is even dancing to the tune! If you listen close enough you will hear her sing "Someday, You'll see I'll be living in a big old city" ....She sings all the words while she dances! ....but you have to listen closely.... Too cute!

18 MONTHS- EATING OUT

Mommy and Daddy took Nevaeh to Pizza Hut.  She grabbed the menu and started pointing at the pictures.  She pointed to the picture of a salad and said "salad" without prompting!  NO KIDDING!  I think the iPad "See it, Say it" app of foods is teaching her these picture word associations! 

18 MONTHS- PLAYING AT GRANDMA'S AND GRANDPA'S

18 MONTHS!!!

This little cutie pie is 18 months old already!  I can't believe Nevaeh is 1 1/2 years old!  Where did the time go?!!!  Not much has changed in the last month other than her expanding vocabulary.  Today, she yelled for "crappa" (grandpa)....when she was sitting on the potty (she wanted to show off)....She sat and sat....grandpa got bored and started to leave the bathroom....Nevaeh yelled "stay here" and pointed at him!  She didn't do anything in the potty this time, but she kept saying "all done" or "I done" ....when she got up, she peed on the floor.....again!    I actually think we are in training rather than her!  HAHA!  No really, if you think about it, it is really easy to just keep putting diapers on her.....it is another thing to schedule bathroom breaks.....especially first thing in the morning when I am still sleepy!   See those curls in the picture?  ALL NATURAL!  Lucky girl!

17.5 MONTHS- FLOWER GIRL!

17.5 MONTHS- WALKING DOGS

Nevaeh enjoys helping Great Grandma Martin with taking the dogs outside to potty or walking them.  She will say, "OK Issy, OK Brie, it is time to poop"  or "Stop doggies, time to poop poop doggies", or "Awe, Good doggies!"  She is such a big helper!

ANOTHER GRADUATION!

I am so proud of your Daddy....he graduated from the police academy!
